A new type of membrane structure material -- titanium dioxide membrane material
Photocatalyst is a kind of photocatalysis material, which is represented by titanium dioxide. This material can produce free electrons and holes under the irradiation of ultraviolet, so it has a strong photochemical reduction function, can oxidize and decompose various organic compounds and some inorganic compounds, and has a strong bactericidal function.
Now, a new self-cleaning membrane material coated with titanium dioxide photocatalyst has been successfully developed and commercialized. Titanium dioxide membrane material has a very significant self-cleaning and decontamination effect.
Under the ultraviolet irradiation, titanium dioxide film materials can achieve self-cleaning and decontamination effect by the following two principles. One principle is that the photo oxidation-reduction function of titanium dioxide will oxidize and decompose organic pollutants. Another principle is that the hydrophilic group (OH group) formed on the surface of the membrane material makes the surface of the membrane material reach a super hydrophilic state which is very easy to wet. After the surface of the membrane becomes super hydrophilic, the water drops will cover and clear the dirt, which is not easy to produce rain stains, so as to achieve the effect of self-cleaning and improve the antifouling performance.
